Bitcoin Pizza Day — Rekt Money

What do you think of having 10,000 BTC at the moment?

Based on the current price 1 BTC = $18,000 — that means you own $180,000,000

Would you be willing to exchange 10,000 BTC with pizza?

On May 22 in Florida, there was a man paid for two pizzas with the cryptocurrency.

Laszlo Hanyecz, a developer and believer of cryptocurrency, agreed to pay 10,000 BTC for two Papa John’s pizzas.

He was trying to find a person to order pizza for him with Bitcoins as thre payment. A British man took up Hanyecz’s offer and bought the two pizzas for him in exchange for the 10,000 BTC. Even then the recipient of the Bitcoins got himself a bargain, paying $25 for the pizzas, while 10,000 Bitcoins were worth around $41 at the time.

Despite the astronomical rise in the price of Bitcoin it seems Hanyecz is not phased about his deal. “It wasn’t like Bitcoins had any value back then, so the idea of trading them for a pizza was incredibly cool,” Hanyecz told the NY Times.

Thank you Hanyecz for your historical contribution for Bitcoin and Crypto Adoption to the world!
